Leadership Wanted

As I sit in Starbucks, and look around, I wonder if any of my fellow coffee enthusiasts are contemplating the $14 Trillion National Deficit that clouds our future like I am. Have you ever looked at the person sitting next to you and wondered what they are thinking? As I'm about to lean over and ask the college student her thoughts, she packs up her North Face backpack, smiles, and walks out the door back into the world. Alas, to ask another day.

We're broke. It's a fact. And the beauty of a fact is there's truth behind it, and to hide from the truth is difficult. With a $14 Trillion dollar National Debt and a Government that refuses to stop spending, the outlook for America is grim. Tough choices have to be made. Choices that should have been made years, maybe even decades, ago to correct the spending habits of both parties.

This past week the Obama Administration released their FY2012 Budget. O's budget is 216 pages of increases in spending and taxes. The Cato Institute analyzed the impact of O's Budget.

The impacts are almost unimaginable:

- Total Budget = $3.7 Trillion Dollars in spending
- Increasing this year's deficit to $1.65 Trillion
- Adds $13 Trillion to the Deficit over the next decade.
- By 2020 the Debt will be at or above 100% of GDP
- Taxes increases of $1.6 Trillion over the next decade
* Stats taken from the above Cato Institute article

The Republicans aren't offering much better, so don't even get your hopes up.

As difficult as it might be to do, look past the numbers, and look to what this tells us about today's leadership. We don't have any--at least at the Federal level. But there are glimmers of hope and change, pun intended, at the State level with the new and established Governors.

Governors Walker & Christie are new on the scene and focused on their State's fiscal health. Just this past week Walker's budget has caused protests and outrage within the state of Wisconsin. Christie has quickly become the model for tough, honest Republican rhetoric.

Many of us have been ready for this revolution. We've seen the writing on the wall for some time, but are we a majority yet? Are there enough of us to vote for those that will lead?

I guess only time will tell.

The State of the Union : A Retrospect

Let me summarize The State of the Union Address with one word, "Unbelievable." But this, my blog friends, is a critical examination of what can only be called the largest gathering of narcissists that blindly sit together to listen to their leader spew utter nonsense.

Obama opened with the statement,
"The state of our union is strong."
Really? How about this Obama: the state of our union is weak. Weak on Jobs, weak from a crushing debt, and weak because we are defenseless against terrorism. Why not tell the American people the truth? As a country we are weak and will become weaker with every step down this path.

At times I thought Obama provided glimmers of hope. Take nuclear power and off shore drilling.
"To create more of these clean energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives. That means building a new generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants in this country. It means making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development."
I agree. That's why President Bush visited the Tennessee Valley Nuclear Plant in my hometown of Athens, AL during his term. President Bush commended the facility for being under budget and for providing affordable energy. Yes, TVA produces safe affordable energy everyday at the facilities in AL and TN. So what's stopping us from building more Nuclear Plants. To date, Liberals have been the road block. My next thought was why aren't we drilling off shore? The utilization of US oil provided by US workers iscrucial for US security and long-term success. Obama almost sounded like a Conservative, but in the same breath Obama said,
"I am grateful to the House for passing such a bill last year. This year, I am eager to help advance the bipartisan effort in the Senate. I know there have been questions about whether we can afford such changes in a tough economy; and I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change. But even if you doubt the evidence, providing incentives for energy efficiency and clean energy are the right thing to do for our future – because the nation that leads the clean energy economy will be the nation that leads the global economy. And America must be that nation."
What? How was Obama not utterly embarrassed by the entire Climate Change debacle? First, the research is nothing but crap. Climate Change amounts to the US giving more money to 3rd world countries. This little Copenhagen venture cost the American taxpayer $1.1 million dollars. In total roughly 106 Government officials (Senators, Congressman, Aids, and Spouses) traveled to Copenhagen. Yet nothing was signed or decided on.

How about the comment,
"let’s also eliminate all capital gains taxes on small business investment; and provide a tax incentive for all businesses, large and small, to invest in new plants and equipment."
Another interesting idea from a Liberal leader, but how is that even an option when the sentence preceding this statement discusses spending $30 billion dollars of tax payer money, and, within moments, the discussion went to Healthcare reform funded by middle America and small businesses.

Besides feeling like one of the most arrogant, condescending people in the world just gave me a lecture, the speech lacked direction, consistency and overall substance with regards to a deliverable agenda. Obama mentioned nothing that is attainable. In 70 minutes Obama promised to give $30 billion to community banks, $10k to families for 4 year college plans, an extension on paying back student loans, free student loans to individuals that go into public service, healthcare reform (again), lifting the pan on gays in the military, a freeze on gov't spending, earmark reform, breaking ground on a high speed train, another jobs bill, ending all the wars, and a million other things that I missed because I was in utter shock.

All the promises came very easily to Obama. Let's face it, this isn't his first rodeo. Obama was elected on the slogan, "Hope & Change" and that is one thing he has delivered on. Still so many Americans are furious with the "Hope & Change" they have received because they really thought Obama was sincere and planned to govern from the middle. (INSERT LAUGH). The election of Obama will be recorded in American History as one huge lapse in judgment. Hopefully, historians will paint our current society as the divided populist it is - euphoric morons and sensible conservatives (I know wishful thinking).

The speech ended with a dramatic call to remember what America is, what ideals we represent, and an attempt to energize Americans to rise up with the Administration and Congress for the greater good. By the end of the speech, I felt like I had been asked to bend over, grab my ankles, squeal like a pig, and then role over and be caressed by my rapist. It was exhausting!

Movie Please

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other 2 terrorist refused to appear in court today. Instead they requested 4 movies and the request was granted. To go along with the movie, I wonder if they enjoyed a nice bucket of buttered popcorn, Milk Duds, and a cold Coca-Cola? That's the least we could do after they planned the successful murder of thousands of innocent Americans.

Obama continues to undermine the strength of our nation.

What would I do as President?

3 week revolving door policy for terrorist: Arrival, immediate intelligence extraction, trial, conviction, and execution. Copy, Paste, and repeat.

Every terrorist out there is laughing at America right now. They know they can get away with murder and will probably start trying again. People might not agree with every decision Bush made, but for the 7.5 years after 9/11 the terrorists didn't attack Americans on US soil.

Ask & You Shall Receive

The Obama Administration needs our help! They feel Americans are being misinformed with regards to Healthcare. I couldn't agree more. Americans are being misinformed and it is coming straight from Pennsylvania Avenue.
"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Facts-Are-Stubborn-Things/

Yes, this is a huge waste of Government time. Huge waste. But if the Government isn't wasting time and money then, what is the government doing?

Since the Administration is asking for my help - I am giving it. Flag@Whitehouse.gov is about to receive numerous emails from little old me!

What's Fishy? How about a bill that does nothing to improve the Healthcare of Americans. How about a 700+ page bill that no one has read or will read. How about a bill that allows the government access to my medical records, pays for abortions, and reduces the coverage our elderly will receive.

Watch list here I come.

Momentum

Deadlines are great. The pressure to complete a project and be held accountable is essential to running a tight ship. But those deadlines have to be attainable and reasonable. The deadline that President Obama placed on passing the Healthcare Bill wasn't attainable or reasonable. The current bill should make Americans nervous. Contact your Representatives, get a head start on your Senators, and don't forget the Blue Dog Dems - we need to keep them on our side of the fence.
Check out Just a Conservative Girl's Blog . Her letter to Fellow Patriots was mentioned in Politico and lists 55 Chief of Staff email addresses. Write, write, write! Keep the pressure on!

Confused...

I believe it was Einstein that said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Great quote, but I am sick to death of hearing it. Liberals continue to use it as justification for Healthcare reform. "We should just try it" or "You'll never know till you try". What reasoning! On second thought, maybe Conservatives should use that reasoning.
Healthcare reform perplexes me, frustrates me, and confuses me. Look at any Government ran program and tell me that it runs efficiently. Look at Medicare, Social Security, and don't forget the state ran programs in Alabama, California, Georgia, New York (just to name a few). All are funded by the government or State, and designed for children, 65+ individuals, the disabled, and lower income Americans. A simple Google search provides links to multiple free or cheap coverage plans for Americans (not ILLEGAL immigrants - go back to your country and rape and pillage it).
Why do Liberals want to create yet another government or state owned program? By using Liberal reasoning - Haven't we tried it? And clearly it isn't working. So why try it again? Isn't that pure INSANITY.
So let's CHANGE! Educate Americans on the programs we do have. Educate children on obesity, diabetes, cancer, AIDS, diet, exercise, and just general medical care. Really look at cutting the cost of Healthcare. Look into preventative care not reactionary care. Take the option of growing the government by establishing another government funded agency off the table!

A Movement is Brewing!

One of my biggest complaints toward Conservatives is our complacent approach to winning souls. Being a "C" word sucks. Conservatism, for a lack of a better expression, just isn't cool anymore. If you are conservative then you fall into 2 groups. 1- Old White Men (OWM) 2-Wacky Christian Extremists (WCE) that believe everyone is hell bound-especially gay people -everyone knows how Christians hate the gays. I mean, really. This is our brand.
BHO being elected with the support of a Liberal controlled House & Senate is the best thing that could have ever happened to Conservatives. We were acting like an undefeated sports team going into the finals. Cocky, ill-prepared, expecting victory, blah, blah. Losing big is good for teams - it makes you wake up!
McCain's loss is turning into an overall gain. Independants are having their eyes opened. A movement is brewing: Tea Parties, Smart Girl Politics, 09.12.09 March on Washington, Freedom Works Foundation, Campaign for Liberty, and countless others! Check out BHO's poll numbers we are trending in the right direction!
Thank you to all the Conservatives that are fighting the good fight!!
